Northern Arizona Adaptive Sports is proud to announce their partnership with Arizona Snowbowl, Arizona Adaptive Sports and the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center in its participation of SkiAble on February 11th, 12th and 13th!
SkiAble is an annual event in the mountains of Arizona for individuals with permanent physical disabilities. The cooperative program provides an opportunity for beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers to experience the thrill of the downhill sport.
Athletes include, but are not limited to, those with amputations, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and visual impairments. Athletes may be ambulatory or use mobility aides such as prosthetics or a manual or power wheelchair.
This event is hosted by Arizona Disabled Sports, the City of Mesa’s Adaptive Sports Program, and Arizona Snowbowl. Adaptive Instructors from the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center in Colorado travel to the event to assist with lessons.
Limited number of spaces available. One full-day lesson per person. Additional full-day lessons will be considered depending on the space available at registration deadline on Friday, January 20th, 2017. Contact AzDS to sign-up for the additional day wait list.
